KRISTINE N. KNEIB, Ph.D. founded KNK Seminars and Strategies in 1985. She is internationally recognized as a leading authority on technology analysis for the MPEG standards and MPEG-based products. Public and on-site seminars are directed and conducted by Dr. Kneib who is acclaimed by industry as the training expert in technologies and practices for MPEG, digital television systems and multimedia communications.
Her specializations include product analysis, system and architecture designs, technology selection and insertion, and technical marketing for video and audio compression systems and VLSI. Her application expertise encompasses integrated circuits, interactive multimedia systems, broadcast and distribution of television signals, videotelephony, Internet video, desktop and wireless video, interactive entertainment and video-on-demand.
She personally is actively involved in the ISO and ITU international and U.S. standards organizations with her current focus on MPEG-4 developments in the standards process. She serves as an evaluator of the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 implementations.
Dr. Kneib was formerly a Senior Technical Specialist in secure voice communication systems at ITT Defense Communications Division. She was a co-architect on the Texas Instruments' TMS320C20/25 digital signal processor.
She has been awarded patents related to architectures of programmable digital signal processors, speech compression and modems.
She received her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from University of California, San Diego and is a Fulbright Scholar.
